Well, the big day is almost upon us…I love that little (or big!) buzz of excitement and anticipation that’s in the air as we await Santa’s arrival and all of the magic Christmas brings with it. Our little one is approaching three and it’s so special watching the pure joy and wonder in her eyes as she learns about the spirit of Christmas. She doesn’t remember much from past Christmases so this year everything is new again, from the falling snow to the twinkling Christmas tree and of course, opening her advent calendar every morning to find a tiny little chocolate (because really, what’s better than starting your day with chocolate?)!
Speaking of the wonder of the holidays we are so thrilled to join our friend, Rachel from Maison de Pax again this year with the Christmas Nights Tour and so many incredible bloggers sharing their homes all lit up for the holidays. It’s a view we rarely see, but it’s such a magical one! If you’re coming from Annie’s at Zevy Joy welcome! Annie is a sweet friend of mine, and I am always in awe of her gorgeous home and sweet family, every Christmas she outdoes herself.
So we are happy to welcome you into our home again this year to share a little glimpse of what it looks like once the sun has set and the lights are turned down low so we can enjoy the always-magical twinkling lights of the holiday season. You can catch last year’s Christmas Nights Tour here, and if you missed it, you can see our full Christmas home tour here.
When it comes to Christmas, I don’t think there is much I love more than sitting in the warm glow of our Christmas tree, simply taking in the moments of the season surrounded by my little family. Every day our little one will stand in front of our tree and examine all of the beautiful ornaments and decorations, picking out her favorites and telling me why she loves them so. She has even added a few of her own homemade ornaments as the season has moved forward, I think those are my favorite.
We keep talking about Christmas Eve and what treats she plans to leave Santa, she’s settled on some of our homemade Christmas cookies and a big glass of milk.
I also set out a vase of my favorite flowers, white hydrangeas. I think they are perfect for the season – simple and inexpensive, but they still add a beautiful and soft touch to our living room.
Our dining room is aglow in candlelight and I love the festive feeling it adds to our home.
I nestled these large pillar candles along our tabletop with a strand of faux flocked greenery for an easy holiday table setting. Woven charger plates, our simple white dishes and basic tea towels that stand in for napkins are all we need for a pretty and simple holiday table. There is always so much planning and preparation that goes into Christmas that I like to keep things as easy and uncomplicated as possible. I’d much rather enjoy a delicious meal with my family than worry about setting the perfect table.
Now, I hope you’ll continue along the tour to visit Sarah from Life on Virginia Street, and don’t forget to check out all of the beautiful homes below.
We hope you have a very merry and blessed Christmas and we can’t wait to see you back here in the new year!
Be sure to visit all the gorgeous homes lit up for the holidays!
